"During his early days
in Los Angeles, James was invited to attend a session with
a medium, although he didn't
even know at that time what a medium was. Given that, he was
understandably dubious when the medium informed James that he
would be doing the same work within two years. "My first
reaction was, I have enough trouble dealing with the living;
why do I want to talk to the dead?"
As James' sensitivity increased, he began doing psychic readings
for friends. During these readings, he began receiving detailed
messages from the beyond. Though at first this seemed bizarre,
the more he learned, the more he could not deny the fact that
he had the gift to reach beyond the familiar plane of existence
we call life. Today, James is recognized as one of the foremost
mediums in the world.
Naturally, there remain skeptics about
his abilities. James, however, is the first to say that he
welcomes healthy skepticism,
declaring, in fact, that he is a skeptic himself. "I believe
that I am doing this, but I don't believe that just anyone can
do this. All mediums are psychics, but not all psychics are mediums."
A psychic senses energy around the living people or objects.
A medium not only senses energy, but is able to interface between
the slower vibrations of the physical world and the much faster
ones of the spirit world.
Though James is quick to point out that his gift does not provide
insights into the future, he is able to provide detailed evidential
proof that a loved one survived death. Surviving death may seem
to be the supreme oxymoron, but he has a firm belief that we
are all spirit beings, and that there is far more to our life
than our life span.
Ultimately, James feels extremely fortunate
to be a conduit of comfort, healing, and most importantly,
love. "As a medium,
I have never experienced anything but love and compassion and
healing in my work," he avows. 'It is the love bond
between people which allows me to make the connection between
the living and the dead.'" - Excerpt from James
Van Praagh site.
Mediums are people who have widened their awareness
to look beyond the veil of death. By bringing in proof of survival,
they relieve the trauma of separation that is inherent in our
present-day culture. As the Shift widens and progresses, more
and more people will be able to look through the veils and have
experiences that prior to now have been relegated to psychics
or mystics.

Beyond The Dream
From the film "The Sixth Sense"
released in 1999:
Cole Sear: I see dead people.
Malcolm Crowe: In your dreams?
[Cole shakes his head no]
Malcolm Crowe: While you're awake?
[Cole nods]
Malcolm Crowe: Dead people like, in graves? In coffins?
Cole Sear: Walking around like regular people. They don't see
each other. They only see what they want to see. They don't know
they're dead.
Malcolm Crowe: How often do you see them?
Cole Sear: All the time.
When "The Sixth Sense" came out,
my sister was so impressed by this movie she demanded I watch
it. I kept saying that I probably would but ultimately had no
intention of watching it. I heard it was a horror movie and had
no intention of watching it. She kept telling me: "It's really
scary." Being sensitive, I don't need to heighten my imagination
with horrific scenarios, I used to get plenty of those when I
fell asleep prior to the year 1999. It's a natural occurrence
for someone who is forcefully awakened in consciousness: trauma.
I had
experienced
intense
amounts of trauma for a significant period of time in my astral
journeyings until I realized that it was all my creation based
on the belief systems I chose to align with. Knowing this helped
me to clear my subjective landscape into a much more pleasant
environment.
So, one day I visited my sister
who was so intent on getting me to watch this movie that she
had rented it out and demanded I sit through it. Seeing I wasn't
going to get out of it, I sat down to watch it only to go through
two of the most boring hours of video I had ever seen. The movie
was a re-run of the last three years of my life. I sat there
thoroughly amazed at how anyone could find that interesting.
The only difference was that whereas Cole was seeing dead people
while he was awake, I saw them nightly when I went to sleep.
But, other than that, the first hour of the movie was totally
self-explanatory to me. There was no mystery or fear attached
to the movie for me, I already knew from the first image of the
movie what was happening. All the images of blood and people
pleading for
help, all of that
was
rather
rampant
on the
astral
planes
in 1999 as any good medium can tell you. It was obvious he was
medium. To me, this movie was not scary, it was life.
When something is unfamiliar to
us, we see it as scary and horrific. Thus, the more experience
we allow ourselves, the less trauma we will experience as the
Shift progresses. While others are running around wondering why
a little boy sees images of blood and murder, the rest of us
will know how to help such a little one. That little one may
end up being your child. The children coming into the Earth plane
are very special right now. They are sensitives to a greater
and greater degree. Think of the many years of trauma we can
save them by seeking to understand our own experiences and releasing
our judgments about them. Think how they can change this world
for the better. We are all in deep communion with each other.
What they learn, we all learn.
In 2005, this phrase still reverbates
in popular culture: "I see dead people." My daughter exclaimed
to me that two people asked her in a single week if she was seeing
dead people. She thought that was the most ridiculous question
she had ever heard. I said: "I see dead people, but don't worry
I haven't seen one in a very long time in this house." She just
turned a pale color and then said: "Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah"
as she put her fingers to her ears. I laughed. I know that in
the Shift many more people will be seeing dead people, whether
they want to or not.
