Web Sites Of The Month
Manspirit.org
Manspirit.org's vision
is to bring men back to a center of personal power that includes
community and relationship.
They focus on bringing men out of the paradigm of social power
through control and back to personal power through love and influence.
Men have
held a great deal of power in this society, but it has been the
power
of the
oppressor,
thus
imprisoning
them
in
a role
that denies their own humanity. I liked their vision statement
quite a bit:
"We
recognize that each man makes a difference,
and that all differences are part of the Divine.
We find direction through consensus,
knowing that each voice is exactly what we need to hear.
We grow community through conscious connection,
tapping strength from within and without.
We invite genuine participation,
so that no man's flame passes unseen.
We seek communion with the Infinite,
learning that ours is not the only power.
We lose our fears by basking in the
Oneness, and open ourselves to love."
All Power To You
This web
site talks about the quest for power and the Divine nature
of man.
Train Your Mind: Claim
Your Power
This web
site goes over negative mental patterns
that impede a full expression of power. One can pay attention
to these, not to invoke judgment on ourselves, but merely to
recognize how we disempower ourselves. In order to nullify
the thought pattern, it's important to merely notice it without
judgment. If one instead resists the thought, it will keep
coming back.

Higher Self Tech: Notice Giving Your Power Away
Many of you may not be familiar
with the concept of the
bird cages, as taught by Elias. Elias has used this teaching
tool to help make concrete the idea that our belief systems are
like bird cages with multiple colorful birds inside. These birds
come in many
different
shapes
and sizes. They flutter around in the cage and make a lot of
noise, representing how our belief systems capture our attention,
as various aspects of that one belief system influence the choices
we make when we create our realities. Even though we are talking
about power, the belief system we are actually addressing is:
relationship.
Power
is
an aspect
of that belief system that can distort our normal relationships
into systems of hierarchy and disempowerment.
Thus, although, we use belief systems
to create our reality (and they are neither good nor bad), we
often aren't aware of what belief system we are using or how
it is influencing our choices. This is important if we want to
stand in our own power without capitulating to the notion that
there are people who can victimize us or that we have the right
to create other people's reality for them.
So, I was quite amused to find
this exercise on-line, as it deals with being a good ornithologist
- bird watcher! Obviously, these types of coincidences are due
to influences of energy from similar sources, in this case, potentially
Elias was kibitzing. Here is the exercise as presented in the
Sharpening Your Skills section of the www.hollyhockleadership.org web
site.
"The exercise below is intended
to help identify where we defer to others, not because we
believe they are right, but out of fear. Where we need to
be speaking
our truth, and don’t. Where there is an opportunity
to express or live our purpose, but we don’t...
A good approach may be to think of this exercise as bird-watching.
You’re a dedicated ornithologist, diligently noting
sightings of various birds. You’re not getting caught
up in whether the birds are attractive or not. You’re
simply observing the frequency of sightings, and their characteristics
of color, song and behaviour...
As you start turning your awareness to these patterns, it’s
like using the zoom lens on your binoculars. You will begin
to see more and more subtle examples of how you deny, withhold,
or give away your power. For most of us, if we were really
vigilant and honest, there are probably 10-50 possible examples
every day.
Try this exercise and you will begin to notice different
patterns of denying your power. The notion of bird-watching
can be very helpful. Simply note the appearance of this phenomenon.
Each and every one."
For the full text of the exercise,
visit this
page of www.hollyhockleadership.org. It's important to
remember that what we concentrate on we give power to. Therefore,
although I am suggesting for you to notice where you give your
power away, do so in a spirit of non-judgment. The point is
not whether this is a right or a wrong action. The point is
simply to notice and widen your awareness. Simply by noticing
oftentimes we allow ourselves to see a bird that maybe suits
our personal preferences better. Do not try to second-guess
yourself nor give yourself demerits for having given your power
away. View it as a choice. Merely a choice and one that can
be changed with the proper awareness.
