Higher Self Tech: Listening to Inner Guidance

Manifesting dreams through directed mental power alone, is the pinnacle of today’s society. We may have been born animals, subject to nature and environment, but modern man can now outwit these elements through the use of his will power and mental concentration alone. Thought has become the tool which we use to manifest our dreams. Thought has brought us nuclear energy, medicines, and the elevation of knowledge as a primary institution of personal power. Thought has also brought the dark sides of these aspects into being: atomic bombs, recreational drugs, and the disdain of the spiritual in favor of the material. Einstein said: “You can't solve a problem on the same level that it was created. You have to rise above it to the next level.” This is also a spiritual truth. Therefore, it is obvious that thought alone will never solve mankind’s problems. We need to transcend the level of thought and become still, rising into the level of being.

In the book “Listening Still…And Accepting” by Lee Coit, the author provides a simple process for letting go of our egocentric nature and istening to our inner guidance. This is the process of shutting down the mind to obtain our answers on a higher level.

Step One is to be aware of your true feelings. This is done by noting them, but not attaching to them. We do not need to deny them to detach from them, we merely note them and be present with them.

Step Two is asking for assistance from our inner guide. This can be a prayer to a form of divinity, or a request to your higher self. We should do what feels comfortable to us. Again, we are in a meditative state, watching our thoughts but not being caught up in them. We should feel a sense of peace descending on us.

Step Three is accepting the problem at hand. It is neither a punishment, nor an obstacle. It is what is. We must accept the state of grace we find ourselves in, regardless of our judgements and perceptions of the moment. We trust that God is there in it, and that this “problem” has manifested for our benefit.

Step Four is listening. We can do this in the meditative state, or we can get up and go about our business assured that the answer will make itself obvious. The faith in the answer alone will pull it quickly into our field of perception.
