What happens when we die? Can that question
be answered? Mediumship is the act of providing a link between this
world and the world of spirit. In the early days of mediumship, it
was common to go to seances where the medium sat in a dark room and
the spirits came through as either tappings on the table or a variety
of other phenomena. Modern day mediumship doesn't need to rely on these
methods and in fact can be done in a lighted room. The medium induces
a trance state which is the doorway to the other dimension. In an altered
state of consciousness, a medium can become a conduit for spirits.
It takes a trained and experienced medium to allow only those spirits
to pass which are for the higher spiritual good of the medium, the
goals of the group, or the spirit involved.
I do not practice mediumship, so what
I am writing is a third hand account, here. However, I did once sit
in on a mediumship group that encountered an alien within the meeting.Initially,
I thought this was contrary to the idea of mediumship. After all, I
understood mediumship to be a practice used to contact the spirits
of the dead on earth, not other planets. But, later, I realized that
it is not a practice of anything, really. It is a doorway, just like
prayer, like dreaming, like meditation. Anything can come through.
In other practices, it may not involved the actual "invitation" for
a spirit to take over the body, which is why mediumship is a very dangerous
practice if taken on without proper training. The risk of possession
is high without proper training. There are advantages that mediumship
has over dreams and meditation in terms of helping "earthbound
spirits." Earthbound spirits are typically thought of as entities that
have died and have failed to make it to a higher dimension closer to
their spirit home. Instead, they are unaware they have this choice
and stay close to the etheric level generally being a nuisance to those
on the physical. Or, they can be people who have committed spiritual
crimes and do not want to move on to other levels. These too can hang
around and do much damage to the souls located in the physical.
My view is a dimensional view. "Earthbound
spirits" are not necessarily spirits bound on or near the earth
plane who initially came from earth and are headed to spirit home.
Instead,
after thinking over the alien scenario, I have decided it is more likely
that any entity can get "stuck" in their dimensional travels,
whether it be living, dead, alien, human or animal. There are so many
variables
that could affect an entities travel: the pollution on earth, the pollution
on the astral, the emotional or mental makeup of the entity, the belief
systems of the entity... If one travels on the astral, one eventually
comes across areas that can make us "stuck." I have noticed
that the shadows of power lines cause magnetic disturbances on the
astral plane
and affect the ability to move dimensionally. Fear is another factor
that disrupts travel. Fortunately, when one is out-of-body one has
another vehicle to return to: the physical body. When your physical
body is gone, it may be a whole another problem to move out of these
"stuck" zones. That's why, I theorize, that mediumship is
a valuble aide to those stuck between dimensions, because it provides
the ability
to "regroup and reground" on the physical and try the launch-off
once again. Much like a person who fails to get the astral journey
correct
and forces themselves to awaken so they can try again.
Here, in mediumship, we start to see
the inter-relationship of one dimension to another. How one dimension
can hinder or help another. How all is connected but not necessarily
"psychically pure." We start to see how the human body itself can be
used as a bridge between dimensions. We start to understand the vastness
of the universe. And we begin to know that we are all eternal, only
appearing to die, but instead moving on into other dimensions of exploration.
