When you come to the end of everything you know
And are faced with the darkness of the unknown,
Faith is knowing one of two things will happen.
Either there will be something solid for you to stand on,
Or you will be taught how to fly.
Patrick Overton
In the age of reason, faith has become
synonymous with belief. I did a search on faith on the internet
and religious organizations came up most describing their"faith." This
is not faith. This is a belief system that has proven to be beneficial
to a group of people. If faith were belief, it would be one of those
things we would need to "nullify" before reaching a dimension higher
than the 3D world we live in. Nullifying is not removing, but accepting
as merely a belief. In reality, actual faith is a bridge to the
fourth dimension not because it exemplifies belief but rather trust.
As Patrick
Overton describes, faith is a knowing in the face of the unknown.
It almost beyond description in our present limited language.
Faith is something we know when we see it, but it really can't
be described. Some people call it a mystery. What we are talking
about goes beyond the reason of mind or the feeling of heart.
It is a fundamental trust in the Divine nature of life. We are
a spark of divinity within a sea of life, and despite what happens,
we have faith that as long as we honor the Divine in the end everything
will be shown to be of the highest possible good.
In our daily struggle of living, many
of us lack faith in our personal power to achieve those spiritual
goals that we desire to see blossom. Instead, we decide that faith
is for the powerful and the heroes in life. Taking a leap of faith
is considered somewhat dangerous for those of us ruled by the logic
of the mind. So we externalize our need to live in faith by celebrating
those among us who follow a dream based on faith alone and achieve
it despite tremendous opposition. The truth is we all have that
power. We all have immense resources of faith. They just go untapped.
We all are capable of living authentic lives with faith as our cornerstone.
Do we have a dream we want to pursue
but our mind tells us it is impossible? Great time to exercise faith.
It can start small. I have heard that if one has a goal that one
will always achieve it, if it's worked at daily. Each small step
is one step closer to the goal and the goal will eventually be reached
if we are persistant and faithful in our endeavors. So, maybe you
want to write that novel? It starts with faith and then pick up
the a pen and write out a sentence. You can have faith that despite
having never done something before, it is perfectly possible. All
things are possible with faith. Even Christ said: "If you have
faith as small as a grain of mustard seed, you can move mountains."
Faith is an action verb synonymous
with trust, trust in the all-powerful Divine within. When we step
out into darkness, we can know that there is a solution, that
there is a greater dimension outside waiting to capture our imaginations
and our hearts. In multi-dimensional reality, we can know we are
not doing things alone, that our multidimensional selves are there
supporting us. We can also know that the world isn't flat, and
we won't fall off if we dare to step beyond our present boundaries.
Bruce
Wilkinson wrote a very simple book entitled: The
Dream Giver. In it, an individual from the land of ordinary
follows a dream and encounters a wasteland before he can get
to the realization of his dream. The wasteland becomes the transformation
crucible where Ordinary Man becomes something greater than themselves
through Faith. Bruce asserts that if he'd only known that all
wastelands are a Gift from the Dream Giver, he would never doubt
again.
In the November 2003 issue of
Ray Nascent, I will profile a man very symbolic for our times:
Buckminister Fuller. A man who was expelled from Harvard, his
first child died, he was unemployed and bankrupt, and his wife
had just birthed a new child. This was Mr. Fuller's wasteland.
He decided he would commit suicide. However, from this vantage
point he made a important jump in consciousness and understanding.
Check out the November Issue of Ray Nascent in the members
section to see how this man overcame his own failures by understanding
alone to make it through the wasteland of his life. If you are
